Welcome! We're so glad you're checking out what our local swim team is all about!
Within walking distance of downtown Millheim is a treasure, a pool at Soliders and Sailors Memorial Park, affectionately known as the Millheim Pool. A place where friends gather, the heat dissipates in the cool water, and memories are made. This pool is the host of the Penns Valley Swim Team. They're a team of kids whose love of water has them spending their days growing stronger, improving themselves, and building friendships.
We would love to have your child join our waddle of Penguins! Please make sure your child:
☑ is 4 years old by June 1.
☑ can make it down the pool with a kickboard without an adult in the pool.
2025 - needs to be able to make it down the pool without a kickboard.
☑ does not panic in 5ft of water. 2025 - The block end of the Lewistown pool is the deep end, so swimmers must be comfortable in deep water.
If your kiddo cannot do these things, they may need lessons for another season and try again next year. Sometimes, we think they can do these things but aren’t entirely sure. Each new swimmer will have an evaluation to determine their comfort level and skill. This will help us determine both whether they’re ready to join the team and which practice they should be in.
If you sign up for the team and your swimmer does not pass their evaluation, you will get refunded and we hope you’ll invest the money into swim lessons. We cannot refund swimsuits, so please only purchase swimsuits early if you are certain of their ability.

We have been a growing group of amazing athletes and families and we are going to do our best to continue a solid program. Biggest change for this summer - please make sure your child:
☑ is 4 years old by June 1.
☑ can make it down the pool unassisted.
☑ is comfortable in deep water.
We will not be doing a separate evaluation day. If you are a new family who is unsure of their child's skill level, please send Coach Stephanie an email.
